After cutting and installing that aluminium decking yesterday, i can feel every little nick and cut in my hands and face. I had a couple little chunks bounce off my left cheek till I figured out how to cut it. I thought I felt all the stinging last night in the shower but apparently not.

We've been dipping into the low 60's and high 50's in the mornings with cloud cover during the day. Still around 80 in the afternoons. Not too bad. I rode the HD to work a couple times this week and didn't need a jacket.

Well, helluva week. Went to the chiropractor to get my knees fixed after hurting them while on Mohave road. Got a brand new trailer. Real shiny and fancy. Was gonna replace the visor on the truck and found out someone went to a lot of trouble to put the one thats on it on wrong.:facepalm:So Im not gonna do that.
The new boss is driving me completely crazy. Dude is OCD. I can not deal with OCD. Thinking Ill try to hang in there till spring and buy my own truck then. Gonna have to up my St. Johns Wort dosage to keep from telling him to go fuck himself I do believe.
This job sux. Trucks are garbage because they weren't taken care of, pay sucks, and these little day cabs beat the living crap out of you cause Arizona roads are crap. We used to have a bit of benefits but they took em away around 2007. The ONLY thing that was good about this job was that our boss didn't screw with us. I have actually gone months without talking to him. Just went in and did my thing, and as long as I did everything was good. If I didn't he knew there was a good reason and didn't worry about it. Didn't even have to explain.
THIS GUY................ shit, constantly sweating the load man. Every little detail has to think it to death. And the best part. Every thing we've been doing for 12 years is wrong, every thing we want to do is wrong, every thing we think is wrong. Ive been doing this shit for over 25 years now, but I guess Ive been doing it wrong the whole time. LOL. It aint that hard. But THATS what drives me completely batshit crazy about OCD people and why I can't deal with them. They know 1 way to do something, and they can't comprehend there might be a different way or even a better way.
My wife is dealing with this at her work, but she is better at dealing with it than me. Im to independent. My wife doesn't understand this.
So, in the spring I think Im out.
I believe that things happen for a reason. Fate if you will. Guidance from a supreme being. Whatever you want to call it. And I had decided to buy my own. Then I was given this one, so I dropped that idea. But now, I think someone or something is telling me I need to buy my own.
    We shall see what happens.

Sounds like a good time between now and then to look for a decent rig and get it the way you want it. Do you want to stay in the dirt game or expand?

One thing I noticed is there seemed to be a lot more guys with the Ram 5500's hauling cars last year. We had several here in this area and now there's only a couple. I don't know if they've moved on to another area or if they got ate up in the operating costs.

Owner operator is a little costly gig but a person can carve out a pretty decent living doing it.

It's got its positives and negatives just like anything else. But thinking about between now and my retirement or semi retirement I think it might be the way to go.
