    :pccoffee: Morning folks

Your Christie sounds a lot like my Kristi; I just want to give stuff away to get rid of it (clutter) and she'll spend several weekends having a garage sale to sell it. She has so much more patience than I. Last year she made $500+ on stuff I would have donated or thrown away, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

That's a great story Marty. Kristi and I were one of those Air Force Tech School romances that they say never work out...this Oct 2 will be 32 years. :notsure:

Thanks for the banter, I needed some smiles with my coffee this morning.

You have been assimilated ...

Morning Marty, I see blue sky and sunshine out the back sliding glass door, so it's looking good compared to the last two days of rain (that's not a complaint ;)).

Nephew, his wife, and baby fly out tonight. I haven't been advised what exactly we're doing for their last day, but I'm sure I'll be advised before too long. All I know for certain is I need to box up some fish for them this evening.

How's life on that side today, have the storms passed by, or did ya'll get any of that system there?

yep i know what you mean about the romances that aren't supposed to work. we started dati8ng when i was 17 and she was 15. married a few months after she turned 18 and i had just turned 20 everybody asked are you sure? your awful young. i never had a doubt, and only 1 regret that i didn't further my education. but now going on 30 years later i think she made the right choice

:sorry: Too dry is never good.
:fingerscrossed: Ya'll get some rain soon.

I'm not certain my Kristi made the right choice, but I know I did.

I've said it many times, her and the Air Force are still the best decisions of my life, I have no idea where I'd be without either of them. You can put that in the bank.

When Kristi's Aunt and Uncle came up, they took a cruise out of Vancouver, BC up to Seward, AK. We met them in Seward and they spent 10 days with us, first part we stayed on the Kenai Penisula doing sightseeing/hiking/fishing; then we came up to our house and did more hikes and a flightseeing tour of Denali out of Talkeetna. Then they flew back home out of Anchorage.

My biggest tip for sight seeing here, is to not be tied to a cruise line/bus schedule once you get up to south central (Anchorage area). This is especially true for seeing Denali because it is often cloud covered. Something like only 30% of the people who come up here with cruise lines actually see Denail. You have to have some flexibility to adjust for weather conditions.

As far as northern lights, it's hit or miss near as I can make out. When we've gone with the primary purpose of seeing northern lights, they never seem to show. The best displays I've seen are when doing something else. They say Winter is better, but the two absolute best displays I've seen were once at the end of August one year when we took my son up to school at UAF (Fairbanks); and two years ago out at Chicken the 1st week in September when caribou hunting.

If you want my help/advice on planning a visit sometime, let me know.
