Good morning, one of those 2 cups of coffee days instead of only 1.

Yep and today is S. The other S is full so must be Saturday.

Damn near hit 60 here yesterday a record high. Sending it your way Jim.

List looks perfect to me! Right down to the Cocobolo wood. I like Cocobolo.

Yeah I like the sounds of that pie too. Pecan is my favorite and there is a pie shop on the other side of the Mississippi River in Wi. that makes the best triple chocolate pecan pie I have ever had. Stockholm Pie Shop and General Store is on the list every year as one of the best pie shops in the country. Little hole in the wall in a town of 82 people. Have run into people there that have driven from the East Coast just to get a pie. And an excuse for a road trip the scenery along the River is pretty decent in itself.

Couple of years ago during winter someone on the Mn. side decided to drive across the frozen Mississippi to get a piece of pie there. On the way back across his brand new pickup truck broke through the ice and went to the bottom. He survived and even saved the pie it made the headlines of the local newspaper. And yes alcohol was involved.

    I have that T shirt.

One of the first years hunting here with my son in Whitewater a huge WMA (WMA=SGL in Pa). Had a spot picked out opening morning and was on stand an hour and a half before sunrise. About 15 minutes before sunrise some guy comes in with a flashlight and a white bucket full of stuff making a racket and sets up 40 yards from us. I shine the light at him, turning it on and off for a couple of minutes. He talks to himself but doesn't move. We are more than a mile back in from the parking lot, no one else around.

About half an hour after sunrise tell my son we are moving and walk over to the guy and ask him if he saw us, knew he did. He said yes but didn't know where else to go. I stared at him and walked away. We weren't more than a hundred yards away from him and he shot. Yeah the joys of public land, not. It was and is one of the best spots in that valley with the bluffs funneling deer into it. Sometimes I will take the dog through there grouse hunting but not many grouse in this part of Mn. anymore it is more of an armed walk with the dog. But a lot of deer. And it only takes one other person to screw it up.

    Morning all,
When I make a pecan pie, there are pecans in the goop, lots of crushed ones, and bourbon and chocolate, you only need a small slice.
And I make my own pie dough with crushed pecans in it

Sounds like a road trip next summer. Is there a good place for ice cream in that area?
