On another subject. Local saddle maker is getting close to retirement and I haven’t seen an apprentice in his shop. Got a belt from him for Christmas years and years ago and still holding up. Got him to make a holster for my leatherman oht. Need another belt for stash and a holster for knife before shop is closed.

Surprised to hear that. The 9 has a much harder time knocking down steel than the 40 in competition. But then again my son is the only one concerned with that here. Me I don't care what you shoot as long as you can hit with it. Which is going to be a wheel gun for me despite the E for Expert Medal. In both pistol and rifle. Not a fan of the .223\5.56mm and M16 as issued either. Prefer the M14.

But for hunting am a quarter bore fan and 6.5mm long before it became a fad. Well in Williamsport at the 1k range guess you couldn't call it a fad. But performs beyond what the manuals tell you it should on game IME.

No matter what I do always come back to the wheel guns when it matters. Have not owned a Kimber however had considered it more than once.

Hope the change over goes smooth Bob. And that Christmas works out for you OK one way or another anyhow.

Over 50k rounds through that rosco,..

I would say yer aversion to 9 would be partly due to your experiences with politicaly correct Geneva Convention approved ball ammunition. My 9 knocks down steel without issue. Same thing with the AR, yah need to run heavier bullets in a faster twist barrel. The Mk262 load in a 1-8 twist makes it a whole different gun.
