What I understood is where the bearing caps go is messed up. I was in a rush at work and didn't get to talk with him long.

Ok i know what he means.
Sometimes they split trying to replace.
Or they tweak and can’t install cap locks.

When my dad worked at the Ford dealer doing services, I saw an old International pickup (4x4) that belonged to one of the salesmens dad (an old tree faller). It had a twisted driveline and I couldn't believe that could happen. Dad said that was the 2nd one that year. About 4 years later I worked for the salesman at a gas station he owned, his dad still had the truck and he was still twisting drivelines.

In the bad old days when I did race we used to put a chalk line on the drive shaft to watch for twist , I never had enough horses to do it but did see a few with a little wiggle in the line and a few twisted to failure but it was more like a 1/4 to maybe a half turn and it sheared in half or ripped the yoke assembly out. @Tacoma Mike you seen any do a full twist or as that picture appears 5 or so full twists. @Martin64 were they slightly twisted or bent or something close to that picture jeez I would be amazed you could go down the road at anything more then a mile per hour lol..

Aftermarket thin walled shaft probably had a dent. V8 in soft sand and floored it.
And it is in 2 pieces, they put them together for the pic

Damn , very impressive and I can't see it was broken I thought it was still together but it still twisted a hell of a lot more then I would have guessed one could .

They were somewhere betwee 1/4 and probably 3/4 turn. When he got done falling trees he'd often bring back a load of wood to sell and he'd over load the truck.

I have seen a wrinkle or two. I have seen a good whip also.
    I’ve seen exploded yolks .
    That I haven’t seen.
