I worked on a race truck back in the 90's. It was governed to 100mph for the race and was completely road legal. Detroit 8V92 with an Allison transmission pushing north of 1200HP, scary fast. They would cut the tyres down and regroove them. Handled surprising well, but you definitely needed some large stones to really push it, which I did not have...They would drive it from race to race.

Army Corps of Engineers, just saying. They also do the lock and dams on the Mississippi River and determine when the icebreakers come through on both.

Friend of mine that I hunt with lives in Silver Bay North of Duluth and retired as an electrician working the iron ore freighter loading equipment. That is some rough work, and in the cold. His retirement is more a disability than retirement but went longer than most.

Glacier Moraine deposits, as they melted and receded they dropped the rocks and debris off the leading edge of the glacier. Twin Tiers of NY\Pa. where I was raised is one. We did grow rocks every spring in the fields and yards. Frost heave pushes them up out of the ground every damn year. And huge rocks sitting out in the middle of no where.

Hey easy now! LOL made a gallon of chili yesterday and getting ready to do 6 qt. of beef stew in a little bit. Plenty of gas in the tank...

Only thing missing are huge oaks with tree roots growing through and breaking the tank walls :anonymous:

Not surprisingly newer is now often old school. Polypro isn't as bad as it used to be but still retains odors and doesn't breathe well.

Technical silk base layer and then merino wool in light, medium or heavy weight depending on the temperatures. Hard to beat silk and wool no matter how high tech synthetics we try. Have Patagonia and many other high tech gear but always reach for silk and or wool. The wool is a lot softer and no itch unlike the older stuff.

Not as fun as you'd think, but it'll still get your pulse up in the right situations. And, if the traction is there, it'll climb.

Previous Pre deployment trips through CIF I was issued the classic double layer brown polypro. But back in 2013 I got the Polartec Silk weight. Amazed at how warm they are with still being that thin.

I see your point. But lift the side car wheel and lose 50% of your traction as that's also a drive wheel.

Saw one driving around in Munich.
Full Afrika Korp paint job, minus swasti's, and had a fake MG-42 on the side car.
