Good Morning TW 50's, turn 59 on Sunday, one more year to hang with you all. Eleven hour work days are killing me, plus a one hour commute each way. Going out for breakfast at 9, with some old high school friends, we don't see each other as much as we would like. Funny how life gets in the way of stuff. Well ya'll try and have a good day and enjoy it, there are going by to fast.

We were set to go on a clamming mission this morning. We got out about a half mile and turned around. East wind at 15mph going down the Sound makes a 10 mile each way boat ride a bit too sporty for us old farts.

Probably take a ride to Bass Pro and look for a new Striper (not stripper) rod as my old trusty St Croix broke in half as I was setting a hook last weekend.

Best way to break a rod , if it is going to break, is on a fish. IMHO, plus new rod, ah the fish tales.

Yep,beats slamming it in a car door I suppose.
I'm using circle hooks,so setting a hook is more of a gentle sweep. After 18 seasons, and a lot of fish, it just said,"I'm done".

I trout fish, mostly catch and release, keep a few each year for the dinner table. I crimp my barb down if the fishing is good, makes it harder to land them, less stress on the fish. Makes me a better fisherman, makes me focus. If the fishing is tough, well that's a different story.

    Ding... ding... ding!!!!

    We have a winner!!!!

    We made a compromise though.

We'll get new appliances now (fridge/freezer, dishwasher, range and microwave) and do more research and thought into a new kitchen refresh for a winter project.
