Blew a wide corner in town doing about 60. I think that's the furthest anyone has slid down a sidewalk!

Good morning everyone,a little sore this morning from snow removal.13* this am, warming up to the 30*,s. A possibility of freezing rain :annoyed:. I wanted to get all the snow off my roof,a foot + of snow, or 4” of ice. Car washes still closed, hopefully today it will be open. I hate salt, my truck is gray with the shit. Wish they used sand, they use it in the U.P., works great.

5deg this morning, was taking pictures yesterday and it was cold enough it smoked the battery and required a reboot when I got back to the truck.

Rustproofing is a must here in Michigan.Detroit is on top of a huge salt deposit that they mine. They spread that crap everywhere. Kinda ironic that they build cars above the ground in Detroit, and mine the stuff that kills them below the ground.

They’ve put down a brine solution on the elevated roads here and gravel/sand elsewhere.

Delaware river at Washington’s Crossing, windchill is actually colder on the NJ side because of the wind blowing across the ice.

It’s a great business model, the vehicle’s today are better, more plastic. The older cars were so bad you could here them rust, just listen.

Good morning 15 ABOVE zero this morning. Nothing in the 5 day forecast below zero for the first time in a long time. I'll take it. Windchill is 1 but even that is above zero.

I have 3 batteries for my camera and in the winter keep 2 of them inside my jacket so my body will keep them warm. Lithium Ion batteries aren't supposed to be effected by the cold as much however at least with my camera batteries that doesn't seem to be the case. Yet the portable jump starter I keep in the truck at twenties below zero and it holds a charge and still jumps vehicles. Go figure. I went with Pentax for a camera body just because it gets so cold here. Living in the coldest State in the lower 48 isn't all it is cracked up to be LOL.
