50+ thread

Alrighty now! Here's the one I was looking for! I just turned 58 a couple weeks back, so I won't be here that long in the grand scheme of things, but while I fit here, gonna make the most of it.

 

Good way to look at it..

 

I remember turning 40 like it was yesterday. Gotta admit, that one messed with my head. I never thought I'd get old. 50 wasn't too bad, but before I turned 51, had to deal with a cancer scare, a badly broken leg, and the loss of 3 of my best friends all in one month. So....I'm actually looking forward to 60, hopefully 70, 80, and beyond. Gonna wear those birthdates like a badge of honor.

The hardest part of getting old is, I still think of myself as the studly youngin' that I once was. There was a time in my life when I couldn't have imagined ever waking up and finding a 50-something year old woman in bed with me....Now I do it every day.

 

Happy belated B Day. I turned 58 in June. Sometimes hard to believe the big 6 0 is right around the corner. Just have to continue to chase the wife around the house while I can still catch her.

 

As long as you can remember why you chased her in the first place.

Oh I remember, just have to make sure I don't expend too much energy before I catch her to take care of business.

Now I'm upset, your wife told me she only chases me.

^This. It's funny, the wife talks to some of her friends that are our age, and when they find out how "active" we are, they're jealous. Of course, being the nice guy I am, I offered to help them out. The doctor said I should be up and walking in a few days.

Just finished a 2 week backpack in the Rockies. Oh sure I felt a few more aches and pains but it was good to be able to do it!

 

Boy I feel awful for you.

 

I turned 59 a couple weeks ago. Definitely on the cusp of two forums

 

Join the 60+ thread early..... much more talk in there, than here, even for us wannabee's All you have to do is fill the cooler

 

I ventured in a little while ago. Good group.

 

I just found this thread, also, and it doesn't seem very active. I guess in your 50's you should be catching up on other before you get too old, lol.

 

Cuz we're too busy enjoying life instead of sitting in front of a monitor all day typing out things we used to do before we hit 60.

 

Every once in a while we catch up. Let's see...nope nothing new.

About time we swept and dusted this place.

I finally bought and installed a rearview mirror with outside temp. Only been wishing I had it since I bought the truck 5 1/2 yrs ago. Does that count?
