Might help me justify the price of a nice large YETI cooler.

After 12 days of no power after hurricane Sandy, I bought two Honda EU2000i generators that are hooked up in parallel. Output is 4000 watts. It powers select circuits in the house: Refrigerator/Freezer, heat, microwave, TV, Router and yes... coffee pot.

    External 5 gal gasoline tanks.

Oh, and hard won lessons learned...

First thing after the power goes, empty your ice tray in the fridge

Last night was a living, breathing episode of C.O.P.S.! The stakeout to watch for vandals/thieves turned into a full blown drug bust about 2 AM. (Not sure that wasn't the intention all along) The cops in my driveway spotted their suspect and lit the tires leaving my drive, cut across the field, drove through a sizable ditch on the far side of the field, and started chasing 2 teens in an old Ford pickup. The chase ended about as quick as it started. Flashing blue lights woke me up. The detectives brought in K9's. They got a hit on the truck, so the search began. They found a BIG bag of weed and apparently more drugs. 2 suspects cuffed and hauled off. Just at the break of day the truck got towed away. Just found out one of the boys lives with his parents, on the street we face across the field. Now I need a nap! Been up all night being nosey!

Good for him and you. Earning my Eagle taught me many great life lessons about leadership, teamwork, perseverance, camping and outdoor skills and respect for our environment, and citizenship. Almost 60 and I can still recite the scout laws and pledge without hesitation. There is actually a thread on TW "Calling all Eagles".

Gotta keep the ice in the freezer. Helps keep the temp low as long as possible. Just make sure you transfer it into a ziploc or something leakproof.

My plans are shot today. Was going to trim some bushes, cut the grass, and wash the truck. But NO, rain again. I'm really getting sick of this rain we get. I know to expect it, Pacific Northwest is a rain forest, but c'mon now it's July. IDK, maybe I'll follow your lead and go for a drive into the men's instead.

Edit: Men's??? Mtns!! Damn spell checker.
