I've been lusting for those wheels for my FJ. But I'm not ready to dish out the coin for 5 of them.

Can't answer the question as I pre-paid for maintenance out to 75k when I bought the truck.:crapstorm:
At my 60k, the dealer told me I needed front brake pads, which I declined to have them do. Instead took the truck to an independent and had them do the brakes as well as replacement of the brake, transmission and power steering fluids.
Is it placebo effect, or does it make sense that the steering somehow feels better (smoother) since the fluid change?
BTW - not new to being a 50+, just new to this thread.

First time I've noticed this thread and I definitely qualify (55).
Guess Im lucky that I get to drive my 05 access cab Tacoma every day for my work as a pipeline inspector.
I get to go "muddin" every time it rains as the pipeline ROW gets pretty muddy.
My first Toyota was an 83 (best one I've ever owned) and since then I've had 8-10 others.
Those new 16's have caught my eye but Ole Blue is paid for so I may wait a few years.

They look Soooo much better than the original wheels. I really like the way they match the black mirrors door handles and fender flares.

I just got $2300 worth of rims and tires no more than 20 miles old and brakes were done and brake fluid flush , I'll show them receipts and tell them I won't give them the lug nut key to remove the rims to check brakes

I will have a list of items I want checked or fluids changed and signed by the service writer . Any items replaced or repaired not on that list I will refuse to pay for

The regular maintenance 60k items (2nd gen 4WD V6) are oil & filter, drive shaft lube, spark plugs, and both air filters along with the usual battery of inspections. They threw a number at me for front pads and to turn the rotors which I declined and had all the extra stuff done elsewhere.
As usual, my dealer installed the cabin air filter incorrectly and didn't hit the zerks on the drive shafts. Regret having purchased the extended maintenance.

Those Honda generators are ultra quiet and very efficient. They're expensive too but well worth it and much better than some noisy 5 hp 5000 watt gas guzzler.
