Never liked the 4 to 1.
Made the bike look off balance.
I had to go to 4 to 2 because the pipes rotted out..

Not that hard really. Actually you adjust only 3.
I made a cool dash for my 550.
I put 4 vac gauges on it with green lights for illumination.
It was a conversation piece every place I stopped.
    The 550 was my fav.
It would run the same top end speed indicated with one or two people up.

Stock Honda mufflers were prone to rust. I grew up with the SL's with the up swept pipes and those trapped water right at that last joint. I bought my 750 from an uncle and it already had it on there.

I know what you mean though. I have 2 HD baggers and, performance wise I'd like to put a 2 into 1 on my 05 but they just don't look right. It has tru-duals on it now (seperate pipes) and its way better than stock and dissipates heat very well off the rear cylinder.

    Yea I did.
And I added extra fuel line hose so I could simply raise the tank and adj..
Not sure if I have a pic or not...
NEVER EVER went out of sync.. lol
The most tedious part was making the vacuum jets for the carbs.
I got 4 jets and filled them with solder then drilled them out. I used one as a test and continued to drill it open until the gauge started to bounce 1 inch of vacuum. I then drilled them the next drill size down.
My FIL was a machinist and every drill size there was at work. So he brought home his small drill caddy and I used them.

    Most of the time.
This one in particular was in someone's yard. Soft ground. They went buried with their utilities and we did a rip down and removed the pole.
Funny how the "kids" in the crew could never find their gaffs.

Of all my motorcycles over the years, that was the bike that I was the closest to crashing by doing stupid shit. I only weighed 140lbs in highschool and I road it hard. My girlfriend's step mom banned her from riding with me after her dad and I were talking in the garage and she walked in. Her dad was a total adrenaline junky and we were bsing about how fast I got my bike up to (110)...not what she wanted to hear.

What this wipers you talk of ???

My wipers , arms , mechanism and motor are all removed leaving a nice hole in the firewall

That was 15lbs of unnecessary weight that needed to be removed even my horns are long gone
