That is pretty cool. I wouldn't mind building stuff like that at work.

Nope , it's an organization that helps Veterans especially Vets that have prolonged hospital stays

When I had my knee replacement they had 20 Veterans from the Loma Linda VA there including myself . They made us steak dinners and it was awesome what they did for us

Interesting my knees are really starting to bother me, and I think back to 15 years ago when I bought this multilevel home and my mother said that some day I would regret all these stairs. Was on the deck last night digging snow off to grill today and the thought occurred to me that I could sell this place, and with the equity get a little land and put a double wide on it with no mortgage. With a full open basement that could double as a shooting range. But if it was warm enough wouldn't have to worry about that indoor shooting range or basement...

Plenty of places.to shoot here. Just down the street is a "55 and Older Community" with places for sale. Many of the mobiles/modulars here are "pit set"...they dig down so the axles are below grade and they sit just a touch higher than a stick house. These go for well less than $100k and many come furnished. The majority are winter homes and are very well kept. Usually the owners get to where they can't travel anymore, go back home for the summer and put them up for sale. Many of them have outer roof insulation as well as awnings, screened rooms, outer sheds, covered parking and an additional spot for their rv they uses to travel between here and home.

I have a padded knee board. Knee pads I usually junk out every year. I don't even have a set now. Work buys them so I usually get a decent set when I need them.

I found some there that are gel with the rounded outer plastic wear surface. My problem is the sweat and the cheap elastic straps. That's where I got my kneeboard also. It's got a hard plastic bottom with the foam pad. It came with a handle on it but it took up too much room in my tool box. It's still not a perfect fit, but it's vital so I put up with it. I've had it the better part of 4 years.

I saw a guy make his own out of work pads. The ones that you puzzle together. He glued them together to make a big double cushion.

I didn't think of that. The foam on my pad has slag burn holes and is starting to show some wear and tear. I like the hard plastic bottom. It bridges over gravel and asphalt rather well.
