Latex-ite Super Patch from Home Depot.

The job itself it a PITA as it has to be compressed to activate it I guess.
So I BEAT-O-SHIT and pound it level with a hammer. Make sure it’s level and cover it with dirt. It is hardening so I guess I’m doing it right.

that's why I went with a dirt driveway. the cost was also a big factor.

I would do this every year to avoid a dirt drive.
This was dirt/rock when I moved here.
    It sucked..
    Spring mud.
    Soft, uneven.
I left my mark of rocks in my neighbors yard. Sucked cleaning 3 yards.

Was the first thing I did was asphalt my drive..

If I had a country house with a long drive and I had room for equipment I would have a dirt drive.

Good morning folks. Got the new windshield yesterday, the truck in for service that's ready to be picked up...when I dropped it off, the service writer asked what it needed and, of course with my helpful and precise desciption ( "the dashboard says it needs serviced"). She went out with her reader and iPad and does a scan right there. I've never seen that done. I thought it was pretty cool. Anyway, oil and filter, engine air filter, cabin filter and 2 fuel filters put it at almost $500. I didn't think that was too bad for a Cummins service.

If I can find a good base material to go down and compact first, I like to cap it with asphalt grindings then water and compact that. You end up with (almost) all the advantages of asphalt and an easily repairable ( rake, water, compact) surface. But, it does stick to boot lugs (like rock...because it is) and you can't roll small wheeled items like a creeper over it and it's not smooth enough for water to run across. If your drive is attached to your house I'd lean towards the pavement....have you looked into having it slurry coated after you reseal the cracks?

I could use a few loads of stone but not this year, maybe next year. The stone I got last time packed nicely but the price went sky high for it. if you can get it now. the quarry it came from was sold to a large company and they use it.
