I go to a couple of judged shows here and I keep the hood closed and don't even fill in the judging paper for the car.
I have a Mtn Dew bottle for a radiator overflow,lol.
The cruises are more funner.
Don't need to hear this or that isn't original as i couldn't care less.

Here in Socal I see legit drag race "Door cars" cruising the streets all the time with no issues

 

They call them car shows(weekly cruise in ) here for most of them also charge $5 for entry fee . Also these shows have awards for top 10 and best of show plus raflle prizes and 5/50 drawings

Most of these shows are at restaurants so if you show your car and also register / sign in you get a 30% to 50% off your food order

 

I never pull my hood off at car shows , keeps them guessing what's under the hood . if they want to know I just tell them its a .060 over sbc with a big cam , again keeps them guessing LOL !!

Currently, it's on skates against the wall. I have to get over there with a come-along and pull it out. The problem is that Mom will make a full 5 course meal and it'll turn into an all day ordeal.

Naugatuck, CT. Charles Goodyear was born in New Haven CT and lived in Naugatuck. Where you might ask? On Goodyear Avenue! US Rubber - aka Uniroyal, was a very large employer here before they closed in the late 70s. Kids were sneaker testers - a pair of Keds for a buck. I remember it well.

Then there was the Chemical also owned by Uniroyal in town. The dump is a superfund site; I wonder why? My house was owned by the graphic artist for them and the President of the company lived on the other side of the circle - he died several year ago. An elderly neighbor across the street from my sister was a chemist. He had a 1/2 gallon jug of mercury in his basement. I had a bottle of DDT in my basement when I moved in.

Fun times and that explains the mental illness...

Yes she suffered a severely broken leg in the incident and is now at home recovering

Field Day my place and get it clean , my Brother will be here from this Sunday thru Wednesday !!

I might still go to the car show but take my truck instead to check it out but I know the car count will be very low tonite
