Afternoon all! Cold and rainy here. I took, and passed, my technician level ham radio license this morning. Wood stove is on down in the basement - I'll be playing down there later. Daughter is upset, her boyfriend gave her the "lets be friends" one week before her junior prom...

Not much planned for the day. Go buy a couple pair of boots, check houses, start laundry.

Since yesterday was pretty much the mark (for maintenance) of the end of the LTVA season, I did sleep in till 0600 this morning. My seasonal is done, they leave Sunday or Monday so I go into full dirt mode (barring any water/sewer/power emergencies). This next week is kind of a screw off week till Wednesday. Recon 5 mine sites then Thursday thru Monday is a string of 12 hr days (minimum) with double OT on Monday with temps above 100.

1100+ new posts. Can’t keep up. Still.

I’m on Day 6 of a self-imposed fast. I honestly didn’t think I’d make it this far. Not tired. Not sick. Not much of anything has changed. I feel slightly hungry in the evenings, but it’s calmed with a bowl of bone broth. From all my reading on the matter, my body will tell me when it’s time to eat solid foods (slowly reintroduced) again.

Anyone else done something similar? Why? Your results?

Well, I jumped off the cliff and finally got Sirius XM. I bought the Onyx EZR. It came with the install kit then bought a 2nd install kit for my work truck so I can just move the receiver and be set up in both.

Got the free trial when I bought my truck, liked it since I was driving quite a bit. When we gave up the tv, it got real quiet in the house. I like background noise. Got a second for indoors. Have really enjoyed it. Hope you do too.

A friend at work brought me an extra he's not currently using to try out. I've had his for about a month and like it. We have like 4 local stations and they all suck. I figure my life needs more selection and better theme music so I got it. I would have liked to be able to take advantage of the stuff on the phones but I don't get much signal once I get out of the valley.

I did get a 25% military discount, but it only applied to the extra install kit and the subscription itself. But, I'll take it where I can get it.

I'm not too old to enjoy the something like that. As kid we had a couple that Dad got from Sears and then later Kits by Heald that he ordered from an ad in Popular Mechanics.
