I've even gone on the US.gov website for job listings that includes jobs at the VA

All the jobs I've applied for ask if I'm a Military disabled veteran and I answered yes to all

Its gotta be that 15 year gap of not working

Casper, you could go back to school once you get your rating and if you take half to full hours you get paid a stipend to go and they pay for classes supplies etc .

While I'm sure that doesn't help you'll find something. Hell even a job at a parts counter would work and you might enjoy it. How about one of the many places you frequent for the car or truckor stereo I'm sure there's something there you can do even sales. I've applied for a good dozen or so over the last year and only got 2 interviews out of all of themand the job market is good here rt now

They pay for training they do not care If it is college but some trades programs have to be on their list but really you just going in the Chapt 31 program first they will do some aptitude tests to make sure what you want to do is in your wheel house . Then they will send you to the course locations etc. Any vet can do it If they qualify , they will help you through everything. Qualification is based on percentage and what is affected etc . But it would all be explained once you walk in to talk to them.

Just gotta keep trying. I'd try some of the custom shops you frequent perhaps you could sell work for them many different avenues to approach and don't be affraid to network
