Dry grass cuts the best for sure, and it’s not how fast you mow’’ it’s how good you mow fast :D

My Truck Battery took a 3.5hr soak on the trickle charger, and also added some water. Good too go for a few months. Chores are finished and smoking some Ribs :hungry:

It's been repaired once already by the previous owner and the hole is already oversized to 3/8" . to repair it again I would have to drill the hole out again oversized to 7/16"

To have a machine shop fix this intake by welding up the hole and re threading the hole would be very $$$$

This intake is also 43 yrs old , only thing is it is a Winters Foundry Aluminum GM "Snowflake" intake made for Holley . I've seen these intakes on Evil Bay go for up to $300 and in bad shape needing restoration

has already been previously repaired using this method

Would have to drill out previous repair that used those inserts

Will call a machine shop on Monday !!

That sucks on the damage to your car !!

It's been previously repaired using an insert by the previous owner

Have you seen how much money it costs to build a nice Rock Crawler these days $$$$$$$$

My last Rock Crawler I had in 1995 and sold in 2000 , I had well North of $20k into it

A competitive Sand Rail is now going for $150k or more

I've always wanted a Sand Rail but the technology has so much advanced it's crazy !! . it's Pretty much the same suspension as a SCORE legal Trophy Truck and running twin turbo LS motors making a minimum of 2k hp

Some of the sand dunes at Glamis such as Oldsmobile Hill or China Wall is what i would play on . an old VW powered Sand Rail wouldn't even get up those dunes

You don't need a competitive sand rail. From the one's I've seen by the builders that shake them down at the dunes, you'd be competing with a bunch of big money clients from overseas and money isn't a problem for them...not enough technology to make more power is their problem. So find an old Chenoweth frame, throw in a pancake Porsche motor and have fun

    ~ $19K or Trade for 1000 Polaris Razor ~

Been looking at the new Yamaha Wolverines with the 850 that just came out, well actually be a few more weeks before dealers will have them. Did on line pricing to enclose with hard cab, windshield, A Arm protection etc. Comes to around $25K. Friend of mine and me were both like the hell with that just buy a used FJ Cruiser and be street legal plus AC. A Jeep is not an option. It is a long walk out of Superior National Forrest when they break or wont start up.

Friday at the Sporting Clays course they let us use a Polaris SxS, a 4 seater. Same friend drove his '14 cruiser and the road was pretty rough on the way in he constantly bottomed out and stuff inside would go flying. On the same road with the Polaris didn't feel a single bump. I'm tired of beating up my truck, dog and me on rough roads on the North Shore anymore. And a lot of my paint and clearcoat is on the tag alders there too.

I get it now. Apparently this guy does also. This is Polaris and CanAm country but they both are having problems lately with mechanical reliability. Pretty sure I'll end up with a 2019 Yamaha Wolvy.

The Razor is a go fast toy with no bed, and almost no utility. Except go fast. Not what I'm looking for. But you may.

    I deal with unobtainium.

This repair is not that hard.
If it’s very expensive go someplace else.
You have a 43 year old Intake with history.

    Drill it out smooth.
Use a center drilled pilot hole aluminum plug 1/4 inch short.
Snug fit and drive it home.
Take height measurements and center measurements.
Get it plug welded with tig and I think 4043 wire.
Bring it home, sit in front of the tv with files and a dremel tool.
Bring it back flat and blend in the repair. Drill press the center and find the pilot hole.
    Drill and tap.
    Install.

If they have the ability to do a deep plug weld and fill it then do that..
When your at your car shows you can take some pride and say you brought that unusable intake back from the grave and made it look and perform as original as possible.
That’s what hot rodding is all about.
That’s what true hot rod people appreciate.

I'm keeping my eye on these....

But if that doesn't do it for you, I've found the Yamaha and Kawasaki models a ton more reliable than the others.

Yeah I think awhile back we both mentioned the Roxor on here, and I was waiting to find out more about them. Glad to hear that you see the Yamaha and Kawasaki more reliable, you are one person I would ask before actually spending any money considering how many you must see out there

The Roxor has a 22' turning radius that is huge. Real disappointment there. A good article comparing the Roxor to a 48 Willys is here.

What really has me not going that route now is the suspension. The Willys and Roxor are going to ride hard on rough trails. LOL I must be getting soft, that never used to bother me much. But now I'd like to keep my kidneys intact.

Here is a video comparing a John Deere Gator to a 46 Willys which the Roxor is modeled after so the ride should be close to the same. Except the Roxor has tires with air in them that should give a slightly better ride.

At the 3:47 mark they start the ride comparison.

So have moved away from the Mahindra Roxor. But I still think under the right conditions they would be a good choice.

Same here and just got back from the grocery store with some sides for meat. And was going to start the grill :censored:

Heck with it still might.... :smokertransformer:

I shot you a more in depth message so I wouldn't bore the rest of the folks...but yes, the Roxor is a little bigger and rougher with the straight axles. We do have a Gator also (I didn't mention in the pm) for one of our camp hosts. He loves it. We gave him one of the Kawasakis while the Gator was being serviced and he said it wanted to go faster than he wanted. But both are what I call "sport" suspension as opposed to the utility suspensions on the diesel Mule that I have.

My interest in thd Roxor is more due to our ease of licensing just about anything on the street here.

...and base cost. $15 k is easier to shell out for a machine that'll fit my use better.

Windoors for the Win! I have a plywood platform I built that goes across mine with 1.5 length milk crates on top like you do. What is that platform you have? I like it.. I still have grouse feathers on my Tacoma OEM bed mat guess should finally clean mine out :anonymous:
