    ...I tried the old rucksacks when I was still in. We'd hang them in the cab or off a grab handle. That worked but they can get in the way. Packaged food is a good idea. A couple bars (that won't melt) would be good in a ziplock inside a pack. Maybe a cheap igloo lunchbox with all that with some foam to keep it in place?

    This is a "sub zero" brand I got at Tractor Supply. It's good for about 18 waters and 10 lbs of ice. But it would be a good fender box for water, a few bars and maybe a few of those chemical cold packs (break and shake) in case of emergency. Insulate with some thick foam to keep everything from moving and vibrating.

    It's pretty tough. I carried it on my truck last year but it's too small for summer and more than one person so I got a bigger one from Wal-Mart. I see they have the smaller ones on sale. I may pick up a couple more when we start the new fiscal year. That may be one of my winter project, building carriers. I can store them in my air conditioned conex when not used.

    I figured out while we were hauling brush I need something on each piece even though the pickup was back and forth with each load. One trip took a while and I didn't know if the other guy broke down or whatever, I was on the ex sorting brush from roots and trunks. I looked down and seen I was almost out of fuel and didn't have enough water or fuel to walk/ track out if I had to. The loader is at the other end a mile + from the ex, so if he broke the truck or trailer he might get into a situation where he'd need water on the loader (you never know). And the last day we hauled we had a 3rd guy running the dump truck (without water on-board). So everything needs to be able to carry some kind of water.

    I did! Actually an awesome set of pictures :thumbsup:

    No never owned a PLB, up until I was 60 didn't need one because I was invincible. And dumber than a box of rocks.... Yeah would want the 2 way communications, one thing didn't like about the SPOT and others was basically they sent the whole Search and Rescue team out after you. That can run around $10K where I hunt. So like the idea of sending personal messages telling exactly what is going on. And have a couple of friends in that area that could come get me if it wasn't life threatening. But if needed would pay the money to have a float plane come get me. Wonder if they charge extra for the dog. Hope I never have to find out.

    Also like the phone idea. As soon as I clear the top of the slopes on the shore of Lake Superior I turn my phone off because it kills the battery in a couple of hours looking for a signal all the time. But if I carried it with me turned off and only turn it on to talk to the inReach that would work. Thanks that is a great idea.

    We have a Labradoodle 2nd gen and she's 60lbs. She can put her head on the table if we let her. With training, she became a gentle, kind dog. We never could figure out how she would take the sugar spoon out of the sugar bowl on the counter without moving the lid.

    Now for the not so good news. My sister was a bit "confused"'when she reported what the doctor said. Dad needs another operation. They couldn't plug all of the necessary leaks and had to stop at the 5 hour mark due to the radiation exposure. They need to make sure he doesn't have a skin reaction to the radiation and then they must go back in within the month. On the plus side, he walked today and the pain he had in his legs is gone. He'll be home tomorrow. They offered to discharge him today but we felt it was better to keep him overnight as he didn't get in the room until late last night. They can watch him for the rest of the day before he comes home.

    Oh sorry to hear he needs to go back in but glad he was able to walk with no pain. If they are willing to keep him another day, I agree with you let him stay and be in the care of the nurses for a bit longer.

    Have you guys tried a chiropractor? I’m a wuss and won’t go see a chiropractor that “adjusts” me but I do see one that uses what they call non-force technique. It doesn’t feel like she is doing much but it has helped my wife and I with various issues we have had. Just a thought. :notsure:

    I need to find a a few I can put in different locations that are big enough to put a couple pallets in. I always have salt pellets, post-crete and stuff like that.

    60". It's just a 7x7. Plenty of room for mower, pressure washer, generator, shelves... The side tool shed is 5x2.

    @US Marine
    :wave: Just checking to make sure you’re not being impacted by the fire?! I mean other than the air quality.

    Evening Everyone !!! :hattip:

    Just now getting home from helping my friend build his garage . Was only able to lift install 17 rib panels today as we had issues with keeping the metal building square . kept having to readjust the panels as we were 2" out of square

    Readjusting these panels took a lot of extra time and even the GC helping us was puzzled by how many times we had to readjust the structure . we've got 17 more panels to hang tomorrow and hopefully it's easier tomorrow

    Besides the problems with the building the weather was really bad today . It got to 108° by noon today but with high humidity . We also had a few very strong T storms blow thru that had strong winds . These T storms were also bad enough they issued flash flood warnings

    Tomorrow I head back over there at 0530hrs and hopefully finish the structure . Today's extreme heat and high humidity really got to me today and almost passed out from it when I got home
