I don't think it will make a good pie, though.

They are running around here now too. Was shocked how big all the farm equipment was when I got to the MidWest. A lot of tractors have a GPS to steer them because they can save so much money on fuel the fields are so big. Not your fathers or grandfathers Farmall that is for sure!

South Dakota come pheasant season all the combines are out. We wait until the first week of Nov. to hunt in the hopes that they are done picking. And hunting cut fields is easier than standing crops. Nope. Especially if it is wet they will let it dry on the stalk to avoid putting it in the dryer which is spendy.

This was #5 of a 6 picker team. 65 mph my arse... Fun when they come at you the other way you get to test the truck out in the ditches. Because they aren't even going to slow down.

I want dem tires on my Taco. But pretty sure some cutting is involved.

    Evening all
First I hope everyone is ok in the accident.

Just got my first set of tests back.
    They took enough blood..
    For this dr.
    All within normal limits.
A1C still 6.0 on half meds. That’s 3 tests at 6.0 on full meds. and 1 At 6.0 on half meds. Had one over a year ago at 5.6. Didn’t feel to peppy at 5.6.
    So I’m stoked.
But the big one is unknown until next week...
    ANYWAY.

ENGINE PARTS ARE PACKAGED... So in stock.
Should be here Monday or Tuesday.

    A show and tell.

    Hand lapping valves...

    CE8345B7-6668-4B7E-9D42-5F85FAB11903.jpg

Grinding valve stems and setting clearances.
This was another area of concern as spec calls for 0.10 and I had no clearance at all.
Took me longer for the valves than I thought cause I had to triple check exhaust with compression release disabled and had to check that the tool was holding the pin down..
Never had to worry about compression releases in the 70’s. Guess the male generation got wimpy in the early 2000’s and were to weak to yank a starter rope so they added it.

So that’s it for now on the block.
I’ll clean and prep it after I hone the cyl and clean mating surfaces.

I'm looking at start times going to 0300 or 0330 and be done and back in the office by 1300-1330 and headed for the house. Starting Tuesday I'll have some haul/travel time in the mornings so, by the time I get to the job sites it should be about first light or so.
