Storms here this morning. Supposed to be strong ones later. I would skip the kayak.

That's perfectly ok. I really hate it has gotten that way.

    That's mighty nice of you.

I have Fishers around my house. They ate the neighbor's cat that kept craping on my porch.

Good morning. Should be getting my ass in gear to get some things done but have to read the news on here first :pccoffee:

I've always kind of liked Fishers :D Sometimes I wonder that there are any grouse left in the woods with all the predators now. Fisher, pine martin, mink, weasels (ermine), bobcats, owls, hawks, coyotes, coons, possum the list keeps growing longer.

Friend of mine in Iowa has a game farm and raises pheasants from eggs in a converted barn he keeps at 103°. 10,000 of them 3 times a year. Mink and weasels are the number one killer for him. Then once he moves them to the pens hawks and owls even though they are covered with nets. Told me last month when I was down there shooting chukkars that coyotes are a big problem for him now. They move a lot in the day here anymore.

Biologist guy in Vt. told me they re-introduced them to kill porky-pines. Porkys were killing a lot of marketable timber and property and Fishers are one of the few critters that can efficiently kill them.
Fishers are big enough to take down skippers (fawns) .

Not sure what ground surface temps are, but I have a scorch mark on my right hand from climbing out of my work truck and using the top of one of my bed boxes to catch myself. I have never done that before. Never thought I'd need potholders around my truck...

Good morning folks. Man I crashed out last night. Thought I'd lay down for a few minutes after dinner then woke up at 0230. So I reset the alarm for 0445. The morning before my son called me at 0130 because he fell asleep at the wheel, woke up as the truck was sliding into a field. He's ok but his truck needs a little work. Shook him up a bit...anyway, I think the early phone call from him and talking for a while, then my own schedule kinda kicked my ass yesterday.

Headed in to work in 45 minutes. A friend I work with is going to make the ride up to the campground just outside of Palo Verde with me so he can do some of his fire related duties. Makes the drive better and the day go faster when there's somone to talk to that's worth talking to.
