    Good Morning All :hattip:

    Looks like we might get more rain today. This rain stuff is getting old. Just 2 week ago I was back by my treestand and walking through the cattails in gym shoes, now the water is over a foot deep.

    @DoorDing Happy Birthday :cheers:
    Enjoy your new plasma cutter. Keep the fire extinguisher close by.

    There was more to it, a jet ski. But I don't know the whole story, only the end result. I pulled up on scene and the air ship had already been ordered so I cut off the entance road to the area with my truck and 4 cones as well as establishing the west side of the LZ, held any traffic then helped with the clean up afterward. We did an AAR but the details never came up. Talked through the goods and the bads on our individual parts, made suggestions, made some adjustments and will carry the rest to management for adjustment above our job descriptions and pay grades.

    Good morning, happy Labor Day.

    Looks awesome! Never wrapped carrots in bacon before. Not like I don't have any picked up another 10 lb. bag of them for the dog yesterday. He loves them, dog candy. I like them too bet even more so wrapped in bacon.

    I used up 2 lbs. of bacon last night. 2 ears of corn. Anaheim pepper stuffed with cream cheese and crab. And rest sausage stuffed with ham, cheese, onions and peppers. Memphis dust rub although maple syrup works too that is my secret weapon too. Preferably grade 2 dark.

    Round 2.jpg

    QFT, and you will not know they are there unless they want you to know it. And Happy Birthday!

    Storms start here again in 15 min. and go through tomorrow. Already have flooding warnings. Coming out of the Rockies so they are headed your way, hopefully they will loose some energy before they get to you.

    Smaller farmers and many of my friends here get Roundup by the 55 gal. drum, large farms by the train tanker load. Still plenty of cattails. They don't like 2 dry years in a row but will come back fine once the rain gets back to normal. Unless the farmers till the dry spots and tile it for drainage. Which most do anymore. Plant every square inch field to field without hedgerows or edges. As more land comes out of CRP that seems to be happening more and more. Pheasants love the cattails for cover and it takes a good dog to work them well. But when that cover gets plowed under the birds start to disappear. Corn and beans have tanked last couple of years and many farms are struggling so I understand. But still...

    With cattails I was reading somewhere that if you cut them below the water line it will kill um. I did this with the cattails around the pond and it worked. With the cattails out back I leave alone. Too big of area to deal with and it does attract a lot of wild life,,Sandhill Cranes, Geese, Ducks. If it's not too wet the deer like to sneak through. In the fall I see alot of cardinals and chickadees.
