Everyone in the Path of Hurricane Florence stay safe !!! :fingerscrossed:

Also Hurricane Olivia in the Central Pacific has weakened some , now a Cat 1 and is supposed to hit the Hawaiian Islands by early morning Tuesday

Right now it looks like Maui County and the Big Island are going to take the full brunt of the storm .Luckily for my Brother ,Oahu is under a Tropical Storm watch so I'm feeling better about him being safe

What a Monday. Float switch on sump pump took a dump yesterday afternoon while we were away. About two inches of h2o. Got her to run for the night. Bought new pump today and installed. Drying out now. I was not the only one buying a pump today. Friday is going to be interesting.

That’s a rediculous amount of water. We get 6 inches and the streets go under. 18 inches is just too much for my mind to handle. Especially if your inland and can’t drain it.

Immediate area here can handle 20" but most of the town will be under water here. Found that out 2 years ago. LOTS of road damage and houses flooded out. Drained away from us pretty fast.

All depends on where Florence heads. I'm 30 miles closer to the coast (not sure where he lives, but guessing). wouldn't take long to be ready to bug out if I had to

Gonna do my best. Thanks Chuck.

    For general info ,
Most folks go to regular fuel stops in a oh shit I need gas moment. If you look around a lot of places like southern states have pumps, some fuel oil distributors have gas, the out of the way mom and pop places have gas and usually have a means to sell with out power too..

There are a lot of folks much smarter then I in here so I want to ask take a look at this article : https://delawarestatenews.net/news/doc-touts-updated-training-regimen-success/ specifically the very last paragraph.

"According to DOC, 267 correctional officers separated from the department in 2017 and 157 were hired — a net loss of 110. Since January, 145 correctional officers were hired and 105 correctional officers separated from the department — a net gain of 40. Whether this is enough to start dialing back the department’s onerous overtime burden remains to be seen."

Umm.... Yeah umm wait.. Huh ???
