    Nope, still sunny, humid and miserable here, on top of a head cold. Starting to see some movement in the trees and a wind advisory just came out till Saturday.

    Sounds like you stayed home. I hope you are not in the direct path. Be safe Susan

    Maybe tie a sail to the tree stump?

    I found a tall, dead tree Monday and luckily it was in range of power lines. Don't know when it died. It was kinda hard to notice behind the other trees. So, the utility came out and took it down, along with another small one that wasn't healthy. Called Tuesday morning and they came out the same day.

    Definately! And not only the power lines, it was tall enough to reach the neighbors garage across the street. Pines! Had to strain your neck to look up and see there was no growth. Thunderstorm Monday blew a limb out of it into the drive way and brought it to my attention. Many blessings!

    I'm in the upstate about 40 miles from Greenville, but it's supposed to plow through here. It will be significantly weaker, hopefully.

    Being in the military, any of the services or reserve / guard doesn’t matter they all shape and change a person mentally somewhat from training / experiences etc. However, there has to be some solid material to work with from the start. Sometimes the material starts out strong and weakens later other times it retains the strength given from serving but it should not be the defining moment in a person’s life. As I said it shapes a person but does not define them.

    Most I have talked to or counseled felt a calling, family tradition, needed a job, more skills ( ME) , wanted to get away and experience the world. Of All the reasons I have heard and been told by people who joined the military not a one of them ever said they joined for:

    Recognition / Accolades from Others / Organizations

    Pretty Uniform Decorations

    Pretty Wall Decorations

    Pension

    VA Pension

    Medical Care

    Life Insurance

    Discounts on goods and services

    Freebie meals, entertainment etc.

    I served and got what I wanted more skills did I have some interesting experiences along the way… yep . Now all the stuff from that time of my life lives in a drawer. I do not feel the need to proclaim it to everyone nor do I wish to. I and many others like me signed up for our own personal reasons and no one else has any real need to know.

    And that folks is my .02 Cents and now will relinquish my soap box to anyone else who feels the need to use it :}

    USC cancelled their game tomorrow. Clemson just moved theirs up to noon. What a waste of state and first responder resources that are needed elsewhere in the state this weekend.
