    Last year when I flew to Hawaii I informed TSA I've got a knee replacement and might set off the machine . They told me the newer equipment doesn't pick up medical grade prosthetic joints . I proceeded thru the check point with no issues

    A couple years ago I had a different experience with TSA and with my knee replacement . I told them I had a knee replacement but no medical card from my doctor . they then look at the 14" long scar and ask me what's under that scar and again I told them a knee replacement . They start waving the handheld detector over my knee and it starts beeping and the TSA agent again asks what's there ??

    I'm now thinking to myself WTF !! is with these people . I also have my cane with me and a knee brace and they're checking it over thoroughly and asking questions . I'm also wearing US Marines T shirt and other passengers are telling the TSA agents he's a Military Vet please let him thru . Finally after 10 minutes I was allowed thru and headed towards the gate for my plane flight
