    I think I've decided to take my truck in and have it set up. I need a radio installed, I need all the flashy yellows installed, it needs to have the control box and I need to get the white work lights installed....and the cameras relocated and monitor remounted. There's a pretty decent installer 50 miles away that does EMS/LE/Service trucks. I just hate to lose my truck for a week so I'm thinking I'll hold out till I go on vacation.

    Yeah, that would be difficult. Anyone not in the union must report to work. I'm not a big fan of bargaining labor but in this instance I support them. They were offered medical insurance that essentially results in a several dollar pay decrease. They only turn a little over $18.00/HR to start with and to have insurance that requires a $12,000 annual deductible for a family plus monthly paycheck deductions is just silly. Heck, when I was there, I even turned that down and was on my wife's plan.
