BTDT Wish I'd broken mine instead of what I did - it was horrible

I have torn the ligaments in my left ankle so many times, I had to have an abbrevement done. They cut out the scar tissue in the middle and stretch the 2 ends together. Couldn't put weight on it for a month. Felt great, afterwards, and I went back to backpacking.

I have since reinjured it 6 times. Hurts all the time

    I'm an idiot, apparently

I have used that in the past to do the entire vehicle but it gets heavy with the FF inside the container. I now use an airless paint sprayer. this gets the big areas and the pro model to get in the frame and small places. it is much faster and less over spray.

I am taking this year off to let it heal. I need a good support, high boots and wrap didn't stop it, just made it less severe.

The clunk/pop is coming from the steering rack. Having the wheel turned side to side a bit causes the noise and I can feel it in the tie rod. UCA, LCA, spindle, and rack housing don't have the pop transmitted through them. It's only through the tie rods...

Similar situation for me. I think it is just easier to reinjure. I’m going with that rather than I’m accident prone (or an idiot ;)). Mine hurts all the time too. I guess we learn to live with it.

...thunder is starting. Just got back to the office from the field. I really like to see the visitors and campers using the facilities. There were 2 church groups out (a couple buses and vanloads plus various canoe/kayak haulers). Normally I like to make those conacts but opted to just enjoy the scene for a minute then get on with my mission.

That's a normal occurrence when checking in at the airport . This is designed to lessen the wait lines at the TSA Check point

I always use my cane when I go thru the airport as it helps with the pain and stability standing for long periods . It also lets other people know not to bump into me

Last year when I was flying to the islands and on Hawaiian Airlines from LAX , I hobbled into the Check in area with my cane and baggage .I was wearing my USMC Veterans hat and a USMC shirt . one of the ticket agents saw me and offered to help me check in which I appreciated as I don't like those self serve kiosks

The ticket agent then offered me a wheel chair to the gate as it's a long walk to the gate . We then go thru the TSA check point were I was brought to the head of the line and quickly screened

I was then brought to the gate and allowed early boarding . When I got to Oahu I was brought to baggage claim

:woot: always good to get back home.

The couple of years after I trashed mine, sprained it several more times. Thankfully (now I just jinxed myself) I haven't done it for several years. I'm actually surprised my ankle doesn't bother me.... :anonymous:

Ah the joy of old homes... Very well-built but shmucked up over the years thanks to half-assed/ignorant repairs and "upgrades."

Case in point, I discovered an underground "cave" of sorts around the clay drainpipes leading from our single downspout to the old-school catch basin. Of course, that meant I had to get into the catch basin to see what was going on.

    IMG_4566.jpg

Lucky for me, my skinny ass just barely made it.

    IMG_4590.jpg

    Umm, a little help somebody?
