Morning. Warmed up to 17° down to 9° tonight about what it has been for last week. And snowing. Again. Welcome to Monday, been a week of snow and cold. Well the cold hasn't really started yet it is still above zero.

Spent enough time in the desert that I always thought of it as kind of naked and ugly too. Friends of mine from the SW and sagebrush sea areas complain that I like areas that are lousy with chlorophyll. Already starting to think that the desert is a beautiful place to be. At least couple of months a year. As long as there are no people. Don't care for all the damn people don't care where it is at.

Get better soon Dwayne! Hope you feel better today and get some rest.

It took us a while to get use to it. We moved to San Diego county in 96 and thought I'd never get use to it. Started working in El Centro in 2010 and was looking for a way out. Once we started coming over here to Yuma and the river it was a totally different view and, yes...the night sky just goes on forever. No glaring lights to wash everything out. Wildlife of any size is sparse but plenty of fishing. Arizona is small enough a person can be in a forest in a few hours and some decent hunting though. It is not for everyone and thankfully so. It is growing but seems at a pretty slow pace. Had I seen this coming I probably would have moved a little further east but we're still in a good location. West of town you can only go so far before you hit farm fields, the river and the Mexican border. I still like it and glad the masses turn up their nose at it.

Actually, I like a nice snowy day; at home, with my feet up in my easy chair, a crackling fire in the fireplace, with the cat curled up and snoozing on my lap and a good book to read.

Unfortunately, I'm at work. With my feet up on the desk and a good book to read because with the snow and it being a holiday I'm basically not going to have anything to do today. For 10 hours.

At least I'm only 4 miles from home so not a lot of driving on slick roads.

I’ll have to look when I get home.

I think it does, but my wife does most of the cooking so I’m not really sure.

    It's a comfortable 27 degrees.
Had my yearly physical today and a trip to skin doctor. Both visits went good, so far.
Back to work today. I wonder what kind mess I will find.

Snowbirding to the desert SW say from mid-Nov to April is kind of fun. Sounds like you would avoid campgrounds, so it gets more difficult spending that much time off the grid. You have an offroad capable vehicle, off-grid you need an offroad capable travel trailer. Something that can get through the gullies and washouts on BLM land.

Not an easy task finding a trailer that has amenities like home, but also can go offroad to most of the places your 4WD can go unhooked.
