    I've read some articles about the possibility of the unibody and can't help but think that would be end of the 4Runner's reputation. I'd think Toyota already has that segment covered with other SUVs so why add another unless they're trying to meet EPA standards.
    Land Rover went unibody with the current generation Discovery and they still claim it to be a capable off-roader. We looked at them as well for their 3.0 Diesel.

    My Runner has been awesome. 126k and going strong, basic maintenance only. And for the size of vehicle, super gas mileage. Normally I see 18-21 but if I baby it and don't hammer on the gas I've seen up to 24mpg. Super comfy on my longer road trips too.

    Oh, and windshields only cost $200 @CVYota

    We had to have the windshield delivered to a dealership and have the 'specialist' travel to install it. What a stupid system.

    Nope, no specialist...$200 out the door at a local glass shop. I've had to have it replaced twice now, gone through more windshields in this rig than my last two!
    Must be a CA thing to need a specialist for everything under the sun
