That's the frustrating part. I've know him for 30 years and he always has done top notch work. He knows I want things done a certain way, and this job looks like he ran out of time. I was pressuring him after the first week, but damn it shouldn't take that long to bolt on plastic parts. Now. I have to take even more time to bring it back and babysit the job.

I only have myself to blame in all this. I wrecked it. I wanted OEM parts and specifically TRD Pro headlights. I didn't like the shop the insurance suggested (actually they don't really suggest any place). I knew my guy does more custom work than collision repairs these days. I also know he is always running in at least 100 different directions and maybe had 2-3 hours to work on my truck per day.

On the good side, he did a superb job of repairing/replacing the support structures. The whole front end is just a bunch of plastic layered of metal hangers. If I don't like something, I can just order a painted OEM part and slap it on myself. Hell, I could order a new OEM scoop hood in silver and be done with it. I'm mostly mad that the job should have been done right in the first place and I could move on to dealing with my mother's health and work issues. Now I got this stupid thing stuck in the corner of my mind.

My dealer does not have a bodyshop, so I took it to the same guy I have known for years. He did 4 of my vehicles and all were perfect. I guess this one is the exception.

Of course her father is vice president I agree with the analogy completely !! kinda just gotta grit your teeth and get the job done.
