    Thing about this, after helping hundreds of scouts and parents, I realized that there us no one answer, try out all options and stick with the one that keeps.your feet warm, dry and blister free. I tried 2 pair of socks in every combo, because that's what we were told to do, hated it. For me a medium wool sock is the best. And a cheap pair of hi techs.
    That answers alot about what happened to smartwool, looking at point6
    I hate those threads. People rag on xrunners too and they just don't get it. It's a personal choice

    When I started with this outfit I got 2 pairs of boots and I get a new pair every 6 months. I've finally been able to build up to having a pair a day but there's always a pair falling away it seems. 2 pair a day would be good. Having a pair under the ac about midway through a work day would be really nice.

    Shit like this happens in DV too often.
    We are working with the NP on removing graffiti in Panamint city. That is a 7 mile climb up waterfalls with a 3500 elevation gain. And someone tagged a 120 year old wall.
    Or the 2 asshats that climbed a fence protecting a deep water pool with fish found no where else in the world, jumped in, killing a fish.

    Or the dry lake bed called the racetrack that has rocks that move by themselves. The area is blocked and warning signs posted, but some idiot thought it would be cool to go and do doughnuts.

    I get pissed when someone just tags a stump or restroom. I've never been to the places you mentioned but have read about them...some people just need a good ass beating. I would really like to see the lakebed one day. That is cool and really different.
