They don't expect you to be productive, do they? I

got a bunch of "windshield time" today. I got up to the meeting point for the dozer at 0615 but it didn't show till 0900, finally got back to the unload point and off loaded about 0940. Too late to start. So drove another 280 miles round trip for shits and giggles. Did get a few little things done for the biologist and one of the camp hosts. Not a total loss. Starting here at 0430 tomorrow, get to the dozer around 0600-ish and go from there. Plan to be back to the office by 1500, turn in time, then spend a couple days with my youngest son and his family. If the weather cooperates maybe go to the range and do some shooting....or not.

Well thanks for letting me vent my worrys today. everything the docs were lookin for sounds like is all good!! did find a slight issue with one heart valve not closing all the way but no cardioligst in the country would have heard it. only saw it during the echo.its not rare and can be fixed easily but UVA doesnt do it because it causes almost no issues. go back in 6 months to check on it. and bless my DIL. they stuck the kid six times and couldnt hit vein for labs and DIL said thats enough,no more. i know its hard but one tech said it was babys faught she kept moving. on shit!! my peckerwood DIL lit her ass up with language that made me Proud. they called a lab tech and DIL said one shot thats it. she got it on first try!! doctor said he would handle the nurse with the attitude. other than that everyone they delt with was great.also i havnt talked about this with anyone but here. Shows how much i care for this 50+ group!! THANKS

For most of my life, I dreamed of being that guy who worked until I was 90. Never thought I'd see the day when I just wanted to go sit on the sidelines. Well.... I never thought that in 5 years I'd have 2 forms of cancer, battle with an Asshat boss, and then an incurable disease of the central nervous system.

Guess what....? I heard once that the definition of arrogance is when you try to tell God what YOUR plans are.

So now We have to make the best of a bad situation. And we will. No idea how long before I'm forced to give up my freedom....but the plans we did make seem to be working out.

Now I just want to see my granddaughter graduate law school, know my wife is provided for, and get the hell out of the most stressful job I've ever been around.

....rounding turn 4 and heading down the home stretch....

Nothing out that way. Farm fields, desert hills, marsh, river and the Cibola Wildlife Refuge. I seen this one poor doe today. She's fat! I was leading the lowbed down a levee road and the doe was running parallel to it. She must have ran a half mile...sucking wind. She couldn't even "bound" like most deer. She finally hit an opening and took off. I wanted to stop and get her a bottle of water she was so pitiful.

@dewayne, great to hear the little tike is good. It's very hard to see them go through this. We had to have blood work when our daughter was 7 days old. Definitely not easy to watch.
