Today was one of those days when nothing got done. Hot & windy. Tried to turn my truck in for service but the line was full of Oregon license plated vehicles. Went back at noon and the line was down but my truck still won't be done till noon tomorrow so nothing will get done then either. So maybe Thursday will prove to be a better work day.

Afternoon and or Evening Everyone !!! :hattip:

Just got back home from Orielly auto parts were I picked up my new MSD coil for my Camaro !! . While I was there an older gentleman had a ignition coil tester he was showing the employees how well it works

He noticed I had a new MSD Coil and asked if he could test mine to show the store employees how well it worked . As he said that I told him this is normal OEM coil and it may damage your tester .So with an employee watching and myself he hooked it up to his tester also using a car battery

The moment he energized the coil all you could hear is a loud whining sound from the spark at the electrode and also see a very visible bright white spark . This maybe lasted 15 seconds then he took the lead off of my coil

He then asked for a stock coil to test next and after wiring that coil up nothing happened . I asked what happened and he was surprised and said " it looks like your ignition coil fried my tester " . Once I heard that I started laughing and then I showed him a pic of MSD 7AL2 Plus Gold ignition box and explained to him you can basically weld metal with the extremely hot spark this system puts out

Here's my new coil and specs are also shown

Did oil change and propeller shaft grease yesterday. When checking the lights found one side view mirror turn signal light, both license plate lights and three under hood lights out. ALL LED! Maybe the technology isn’t quite there yeto_O

If it was a MSD 6A box , those don't hurt much at all , now the 7AL2 plus Gold box if you get hit it's like being tazed by a taser , stun gun or cattle prod !!!!!:welder:

I've noticed a difference in quality of difference led lights. Not sure what all the amperages are, but definitely on where I buy them. Anything from the cheaper outlets is usually more apt to be dimmer and have a shorter life span.

    Sooooo
    Moron report.
Not cust. Feel sorry for him.
Cust hears a thump thump occasionally.
Brakes locked up once a few weeks ago.
    Road test
    Nothing.
    So do a brake inspection.
    Ft calipers and hardware ok
Rear drums are a pita as usual.
    Get them off finally.
So rr drum comes off and I hear something.
Look down and see one of the wheel studs.
    Ok seen that happen before.
    Just reinstall it.
    Mmmmmmmmm
    Count the studs.
    1 2 3 4 5 6....
    Mmmmmmmmm
    Count again
    1 2 3 4 5 6..
Plus the one in my hand..
    WTF....
apparently his friend put tires on his truck and bunged up the end of a stud.
So instead of just chasing it he replaced it.
Ok no problem but when you knock out a wheel stud.
YOU NEED TO PULL IT OUT FROM BEHIND THE BRAKE SHOES..

So checked everything and did a CLA and road test.
    Brakes felt much better.
So gave him the stud and told him to go see his friend for reimbursement.
