It's been raining pretty much all day, which knocked the temps down in the 70's.
But... 95% humidity and dooo points in the low 70's make it a bit squishy.
Swamp azz weather in the 90's and maybe 100 for the weekend.
Think yard work is not in the cards.

I get pissed when I see someone else on the stream fly fishing for trout when I am. I do give them respect and get out of the water and walk a long ways around them. Others don't seem to give a shit and will plow right through in front of me. People suck.

Just can't latch on to the idea of fishing with a herd of people. To me it is like grouse hunting, a solitaire event. Well except for the dog. Or my son.

Was 90 and heat index was at or just over 100 most of the afternoon, still is. Put some doctored beans under the pork butt to catch the juices and cook for a couple of hours.

    DDG butt beans on.jpg

Pulled it off the smoker 45 minutes ago it has been resting in the AC and so am I. Time to go pull it and see how it ended up. Pretty hard to screw up a pork butt though. First one I've done hot and fast at 280-290 and then wrapped at the end for 3 hours. I've always done 225 for as long as it takes and push through the stall.

    DDG butt done.jpg

I'm going to go with it turned out pretty damn good.

I only seem to get stall when I'm going direct. With the offset it just trucks on through. But I also change fuels when I'm off set. I start with wood and charcoal and keep feeding the fire with wood because of all the air leaks. I debark the mesquite I feed in later and split it up into roughly 2"-3" × length so I don't get the super heavy smoke.
