I use simple green in a spray bottle, spray it let it soak a bit, brush areas if necessary, then clean water rinse with the spray bottle.
    Works every time!!

    Thanks Guy's !!!!

Like I mentioned I've got a garden sprayer that sprays a very fine mist so I don't think it'll soak any electrical connections . I just want to clean up the layer of dust in the engine compartment

Put a grocery bag over your fuse box.

I usually get a big pack of those really cheap cotton work gloves, dunk your hands in a bucket of soapy water and just wipe the engine down. Gets most of it cleaned up without leaving any puddles anywhere.

Why are we cleaning an engine?

I like that one! I learn stuff here. Someone answered my question about why the Pro Grille is such a popular mod. The person told me that “EVERYONE does that to be different”. I love that, signature line stuff. I get “too obsessed” also. :D

Undiluted Simple Green is strong, you can dilute to half strength and it will still clean well!!

That stuff likes a warm and dry engine and works well for oil and grease. Less well on dust and dirt. I like simple green for the rest. With gunk, spray it on a d let it sit for quite a while on the warm engine. If already wet, it won’t work well at all.
