All the good trails are 4 to 6 hours away (at a minimum) We routinely "road march" 'em to/from home. I wanted a decent radio with some range for roadin' it. One buddy drives me out of my ever lovin' mind with the cell phone.....In a recent 3 hour road trip, he called me 17 times on the way up to Badlands. He's into CB's in a big way. I have a feeling I'll be turning mine off while we're on the highway. I just don't like "noise" while I'm driving.

 

yeah turn it off and he'll be calling you on the phone again. if he's so big into cb's you should have conned him into installing yours claiming you just weren't sure you'd get it rt

 

Calling this guy a half ass would be giving him about 50% too much credit. No way he turns a wrench on my truck!

Phones have an off switch. So do radio's.

I'm VERY particular about how things are done on my rides.

 

Worked good when I used it. Used it for plowing in the trucks

 

i can deffinately appreciate that. i was only thinking people who are really into something are usually pretty good with it. oh well. it was just a thought

 

that's about exactly what i got except a radio shack 1 i figured it would have plenty of range for convoying down the road or trail riding

 

If your riding the trails with a convoy and you lose radio with a handheld your to far apart.

aha that explains it then. how was your first day back at work. i got to start by lifting and installing dumptruck wheels on one side of the truck by myself so i dropped the wheel dolly on the other side of the truck and let the other dude do the rest by himself. then when he acted like it was killing him to torque the nuts to 500 ft lbs i offered to help so he walked away after doing 1 1/2 wheels and left me to finnish them. all this after realizing for some reason they didn't pay me

 

we knew that too! but you are a badass driver so you even out!lol

 

Well. They saved two cars for me from last week. 5 days. So take it from there...

 

Gah! I missed the CB conversation! I've got a cobra 75 wx st I just removed from the tundra to go into the Tacoma

It worked well in the tundra. All my backwoods traveling friends have CBs so it only makes sense to have that over the ham for now. Plus you can talk to truckers on the freeway....
