get the waze ap for your phone it has worked great for us in many circumstances

 

Already roll with waze. Truckers got me rerouted better that time. Waze is awesome for looking at the hazards ahead of you though!

 

last year and this year coming home from the beach it rerouted us and saved us hours of sitting and as you stated the road hazzard alerts are very nice

 

We ran with CBs for a long time. Noisy and only good for short distance, the ham is 100% better.
Although I was probably the only one that used an Swr

I have no doubt and fully plan on ham in the future. The CB is convenient for what my friends and i need it for.

Didn't they change a little and let you get a license without your morse ?

 

Yes, there is a $75 charge for a gmrs licence, which I have, that covers the lower bands, the full license requires a test, I hope to take it soon.

Morse is not on the test.

 

See, i was hoping to learn this in a few years but you guys are gonna make me learn it now. ...

 

And only one of us needs a gmrs licence
