At work today got an email directed to me from a much younger lady that copied 6 of us that are pretty close.

Much to my surprise another older woman who I respect replied that is why the Navy should have den mothers with a baseball bat. I replied to all that no then it would be called the NEW Navy....

    1) It really is a great community.

    2) Thoughts and prayers for your wife's continued success defeating the devil cancer. My MIL is going on 5 years since her treatment for the same...all clear so far.

Rob summed it up much better than I ever could. Please give your wife an extra hug for me today! And much mojo for her to keep winning the battle. Losing your father on top of it would have to be extra hard, I can't imagine. I actually understand the much needed distraction, part of the reason I'm on here so much. Just got back from taking my son in for blood tests then run him back in and hour and half to see urology. Cancer is in remission but still have a number of other health issues to work through yet.

Those Air Force guys and gals are a pretty good group of people, as I'm sure your father was. My father passed away more than 10 years ago and I still find myself missing him at times. Especially when I want some sound advice.

Thanks Rob! And I wish your MIL continued success in her battle also. I never realized just how much a battle cancer is before. Actually I think of it as a war, it is a series of battles.

IIRC your MIL went to Mayo Clinic, where my son went\is. When we first started chemo at the beginning of the year I was shocked how many people were in the lobby on the 10th floor waiting on chemo. Young and old men and women, some kids. A lot of females with breast cancer too. Back then treatment was done in a shared room of about half a dozen people or more all at once. Some liked to talk and others were in shock and just stared at the floor or out the window. They just finished up creating private treatment rooms so everyone gets their own room now. Not sure which is better but either way cancer sucks.

Thanks Mike ... I agree, definitely a form of the devil on earth IMO.

Yes, same place. I should think the private room is an improvement. :notsure: Are patients allowed to have anybody sit with them during treatments if they want? I never talked to Mom about the actual specifics. I know Kristi's (wife) Dad always went up there with her. They stayed at a hotel right next door that catered to patients at the clinic IIRC.

Glad to hear he went with her, yes it is best IMO to have someone there while going through it, took my son ~4 hours for each treatment. I was there every time for him. Quite a few older people were there alone but they have a lot of volunteers that go around and just talk to people and give them treats and companionship.

So hey, what kind of stuff should we buy truck related next? I'm waiting on the WeatherTech rain deflectors GB, to replace the set I put on 5 yrs ago; I lost the pax side one a couple months ago. I figure $100 for 5 yrs isn't too bad. My next debate is just shocks, probably Bilsteins; or go for a mild lift. Been on that fence a while now, still not sure.

Pretty much where I'm at. ARE MX fiberglass topper, sliders, bet mat, half platform with rubber over most everything in the back has caused a really saggy ass. Purchased the air bags and daystar cradles a couple of months back but haven't had time to install them. But have found at least one other person that had an issue with installing them on his Baja. I feel that I should first address the weak leafs and add 1.5-2" back but not sure what route to go yet. Nissan has the same weak leaf springs issue and I did AAL on my Xterra but after a couple of years they flattened back out. But still not sure yet which way to go yet.....

I'm still on non-TSB weak springs in my '07 compensated for by Ride-Rite airbags installed 9 months after I bought the truck. The airbags have served me well.

Hmmm ... Definitely need to look into this. How did you arrive at that combination Jim? How mild are we talking? I want to stay with my stock size (245/75/16) tires; so something that doesn't make that size look silly is my goal. I don't seriously off-road my truck; have my UTV and ATVs for that type of work/play.
