    Night everyone, will be a long couple of days working the open house at the museum, looks like tomorrow we might be doing it in a dreary rain all day..

    Everyone have a good weekend, be safe, and Happy Veterans Day to all our Vets!! Thanks to all for your service!

    @MTgirl
    I think I already asked this but not sure if you answered. My head is still foggy.
    What’s your thoughts of Glacier National Park? We’ve only been about a mile in because it was too early in the season. We are just trying to plan our Summer visit.

    i might have missed it....
    what do you consider summer? Summer doesn't really start up there until July...and ends in August...
    the park is gorgeous and worth the time to visit. you must hike. there's so much more to see than the Going to the Sun Road...not that the views there are shabby. Be sure to check out the East side as well as the GTTS. Many Glacier and Two Medicine are beautiful areas. And the drive along Hwy 2 at the parks south boundary between the East and West entrances is a nice drive too.
    Planning visits can be tricky up there - too early and the road is still closed due to snow (I suspect this winter will be a heavy, heavy snow year if things keep up) or too late and the fires have taken over resulting in emergency closures and zero visibility. Late July can be awesome as the wildflowers will be in season but the park will be at its busiest. Late September can be great too as crowds start to taper off and the Larches start turning golden. Fall can be a gamble with the weather though...I was supposed to be up there for 4 days at the end of September. I didn't get to go as heavy snow was in the forecast and I was battling a head cold.
