Real imaginative! Like the foresight for expansion. But if they wanted to be thorough they should’ve notched the roof brace!

Good evening. Eye is doing good! Manager was floored when I thanked him for getting me back to work early:rolleyes: Check up tomorrow morning to remove restrictions
Sat morning partner snapped off a cold water shut off in a patient room. WITH THE PATIENT IN THE ROOM! Damnit! Now I’m on top of a ladder looking for a shut off in the ceiling. Found it, and stopped the water! Still a lot of water, everywhere!

Thanks man. That’s the easy part.
I’ll show you the brake modules I have to remove and the disassembly of the dash later on maybe.
I don’t think I’m smart sometimes when shit like this gets in my lap. If I was dumb I’d do oil and rotates and watch the shit pass by.

One of the reasons I gave up on higher paying employment. Most everyone else bitched and complained about the shit jobs I got stuck with while they got flappers and loose toilet seats

    Thanks
Yup, still have three weeks of eye drops to go. Vision improved immediately I’ll still need glasses but having both eyes working in well lit rooms is nice. Colors are brighter as well.

Geez...you boys are going to ruin your dinner with all that popcorn!

    Ok, so moron report...
Stone countertops (what I do) are one of the last things to go into most of the houses we work on so there's not a lot to be done after us except maybe some tile, plaster, and paint.
We've been working on a project since about mid-August. Almost done as of this week, just a few odds and ends for us to fix. The ski resort opens Thanksgiving weekend so there's usually a big push to make that our deadline for a lot of houses. Great, we're on schedule.

Contractor calls today and says he just got done doing a walk through with the interior designer. The designer says all of the materials that we used on the countertops are wrong. The contractor asks us whats up. Don't know...the designer signed the contract that lists everything out by name and they also approved the drawings and layouts that I work on (we photo every slab we use so there could have been no mistaking things at that point, they had a picture showing exactly what the finished product was going to look like). The contractor then gets the designer on the phone. Turns out they decided to change up a bunch of things at some point this summer BUT THEY NEVER TOLD ANYONE!!! Also, keep in mind that we order things months in advance so these slabs have been sitting around since April or May. Then they decided to change things in July or August and sold the house so the owner is expecting something totally different than what's up there now.

Now we are looking at replacing an entire house-worth of countertops...7 bathrooms, a kitchen, pantry, 2 bars...that we just installed a week ago. That's going to be a minimum $50k-60K.

What is yet to be known is if the cabinets, flooring, tile, paint and plumbing hardware also need to change. Not my department but thats big money also.

    So...
the house will NOT be ready for ski season.
    At best we're talking a $50k mistake.
If other trades and items need to be replaced that could hit $150k easy.
Someone's getting fired over this guaranteed. If it was a principal partner at the design firm maybe not but I'm sure some junior partner is going to be packing up their desk by the end of the week.
    Somebody screwed up big time.

nothing I or any of my coworkers did wrong...thankfully. And there were several opportunities before anything was cut or installed that someone could have taken notice and stopped us.
Year end bonuses usually come out first half of December...this would have wiped those out for all of us!
