 Good morning 50's. Not much doing here today. Having a Bloody Mary and waiting for the football games to start.

Some good games today. Looking foward to Seattle v. Minnesota. And seeing how many points the Pats beat my Eagles by, haha. Jets v. Giants should be a pretty good game too.

Man just reading that exhausted me, think it is time for me to take a nappy!

Good morning everyone, taking advantage of the decent weather to knock out a few more things outside. All this fresh air is making me tired, early yet but that nap thing is sounding pretty good already. The older dog kept me up half the night, pretty sure he knew the pup got to go hunting yesterday and was jealous.

Yeah, we'll see which Giants team shows up and whether it's the "good" Eli or "bad" Eli. Very frustrating being a Giants fan these past couple of years.

Yeah, it's equally frustrating to watch him as an Eagles fan with his ups and downs. Just when you think the Giants are done, they seem to be able to resurrect themselves. We'll see this year, can't believe the Skins will win the division and it surely won't be my team or the Cowboys.

 all that by 7:30?? I'm hopefully not up at that ungodly hour :p but definitely don't have that motivation.

Zoie's face is looking better this morning.... she's currently sleeping off her benedryl :pout:

This was last night - see all the bumps. :(

Her eyes are saying, "never take a photo of a woman before she's put on her makeup". haha. Even sick, she's a beauty!

And yeah, I know I'm not normal. I'm up by 5:30 or 6:00 even on weekends.

Thanks. No her eyes are saying "make me feel better"

I don't even get up by then on work days. I can't go to bed early - don't sleep until late, so can't get up early. :notsure:

I guess it's just a matter of what our bodies are used to. 23 years of military life, most of them working the 0700 shift, I'm a serious morning person.

Susan what happened to Zoie?! Hope she is alright! She does have that look.... Benedryl is great stuff when it comes to dogs and always in my emergency field kit for everything from yellow jacket stings to porky quills.

I worked the 7 - 4 shift for many years, and it was hard to get up most mornings.

The only thing I can think of, is she reacted to some mold in the leaves I was blowing, and raking last night. When raking, goof ball just stood there and let leaves rain over her. Swelling started pretty soon after we she had leaves on her. I gave her a benedryl as soon as I realized she was swelling up. Also washed her face off, in case it was mold. I take it with me whenever we travel.

Several years ago my avatar pup and Annie both swelled up after using a "christmas kit" doggie shampoo on them. I take shampoo with me as a result of that. Figured the small bottle would save space - big mistake!!!

Yep I bet allergies too. According to my vet grass and mold seasonal allergies are the most common with dogs. My youngest pup when I switched him from puppy food to regular dog food would get red eyes and bite at his tail and butt. The vet figured allergies and thought it was likely grasses or mold because it was a wet year. I bought a bag of grain free dog food, actually by mistake, and the problem went away so in his case it was grain allergies. I used to think grain free dog food was a solution looking for a problem that didn't exist. Not any more.... Hope she feels better soon!

Thanks. some of the swelling is down. Not sure if from mold or if she got bitten by something. I didn't find one bump that could have been a bite but :notsure:

@Marty65 getting in a little fishing. Had a great time doing a little mountain meet and ride yesterday with some of the local guys.

Oh, it wasn't that bad, but I was happy with my little (modified) 5-Lugger. I didn't try to crawl up that hill with the big ruts, though now I wish I had. If anyone doesn't need a locker, I highly recommend the Truetrac. I don't think I would have made it down that section without it. Enough advertising. I had a great time and really enjoyed finally meeting those that came out.

I did bring my good camera, but didn't bring an SD card. But my old S4 does decent. The pics don't give the true indication how high up we were. Here's another from Jumping Off Rock and one when we went down to the lake. Jocassee is a beautiful lake. We will be camping up there next year at Devil's Fork, with the kayaks hopefully.

Looks like you all had a good time for sure! That is close to my old neck of the woods, just across the border. One year we held our Zone annual family meeting down at Devil's Fork Park. I covered Henderson and Transylvania Counties in NC out of Hendersonville, along with Mitchell to the East. I took those counties mainly because of the trout fishing and hunting opportunities. That whole area is one of the best places in the Country to live IMO.
