nope, showered last night to save time this morning. from the quick look i got things had been burning for a good while. guessing 2am a least. drove back by on my way to work after my dentist appt and most of the trucks had left, building still smoldering, roof caved in and there was a backhoe there poking at one of the walls trying to get it to collapse i guess.

you ever watch the series Generation Kill? Your comments made me think of it. Watch if you haven't and we will discuss.

its in a business district so i'm guessing no lives just maybe a livelihood. bad thing is that there are no hydrants back there (i used to work in the area) so most of the buildings only have an underground watertank with a pump that goes off when the sprinklers go. but once the tank runs dry...yeah. Thats how it was at my old office. Basically just buying enough time for folks to get out if it happened during business hours.

Butte, MT canceled their St Pats parade over the weekend and now there is an order from the state that all bars and restaurants are to close at 9pm tonight. Don't think Butte's seen a dry St Pat's since prohibition and I'm sure there were plenty of folks finding their way around that back then!

    why are you holy schmoly-ing?

It's F'n crazy here , just (1) reported case of Corona virus in the States largest County of 20k square miles with a population of 2.5 million . The County Health dept says we're at low risk , However the panic buying continues still emptying shelves

Went to a couple stores today and what I wanted was gone from the shelves

    Going to be fun.
i guess it gives me the chance to finally clean my office of all my old project notes and start fresh.
The pup will love that I am home...

We were told at work we can take off for any Corona reason. 10 days with pay. That's mostly to help with parents with kids home school. Still have short term disability pay if I get the virus.
Just waiting for things to completely shut down. We are the hot spot in Wisconsin for this. We are good to go with supplies. About a month ago my wife was asking why was I buying extra stuff. Even got frozen bread dough, just in case.

Guess we will see how the 20 something handle their first crisis. May have to cook. I suspect in the next couple days there will be some social transferred cases here and they will shut everything down. I feel for all the Batchelors out there that eat out all the time. Going to fuck them up. I was one of them and this would of drove me somewhat bonkers.

Stay safe and be kind to one another.

Well, I heard some of the youngsters at work talking about how the virus isn’t a major issue for them because they tend to not have any complications. One coworker in the discussion had this cavalier attitude about it. Pretty much a so what if I infect anyone - as long as I’m ok, I’m fine attitude. She’s an ass...

You're talking about the one case reported in San Bernardino ?, I'm in OC and I just saw that last night on the news.
It's really pathetic how selfish people are, think about all of the perishable goods that people are hoarding and half of it will probably end up going bad.
I think this is a nice preview of how it's going to be when there is a serious disaster, earthquake or whatever.

People are literally sleeping in their cars at grocery stores waiting for the store to open . I may have not got what I needed today for myself but was able to get a 50 day supply of food for my cats

We're in an apartment and my wife just ran into our manager, he says that they're considering closing the laundry facilities.
How the fuck does that make any sense if we're trying to keep everything cleaner ?

Word at work this morning mission essential, which my job is classed, will continue to report. Any symptoms, and self-quarantine for up to 5 days without Doctor note using personal sick leave time or regular leave (paid), or administrative leave (unpaid).

See what today's round of meetings decided in the morning.

Wow, that's a lot of siren commotion to miss. You're still a youngster if you sleep that soundly. ;)

pretty much what I was thinking. Mac and Cheese, canned soup and canned pasta were the first things to go after the TP and hand sanitizer.
I keep my freezer pretty well stocked and have enough rib eye steaks to kill a vegan colony. Fresh produce is my biggest concern. I like my veggies!
