    went for a drive today - thought it was better to sit in the truck than to sit in the house yet again. stuck to mostly backroads and what not. not a lot of traffic overall but there were a lot of folks out fishing, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and shooting.
    i finished my route sooner than I expected as all of the side roads were snowed in so I went up a road I haven't been on in years - don't think I ever took Runner back there so last time was at least 5 years ago with Baby Toy. Anywho...the area is actually the training grounds for the MT National Guard but when they're not actively doing exercises it is open to the public. Lots of trails back there. I figured it was fine to bring the battleship there since they take tanks and Humvees and Duece and a halfs back there. The signs marking the various routes are so shot up from stupid people using them for target practice I missed a turn to stay on the red (easy) route and ended up on a different route. it was fine until I got to a series of bunny hills and had to keep getting out when I crested the hill because the hood on the battleship is so freaking huge I couldn't see what was on the downhill side of the trail for at least 20 yards. I crested one hill and had a tree right out my door so I had to go in blind and ended up hitting some mud. it was just slick enough and the battleship is heavy enough that i started going sideways, right into another tree. I cranked the wheel and avoided going off the trail but I did brush up against the tree hard enough to fold in the mirror and put some pinstripes on the entire length of the truck. got out at the top of the next hill and walked a way, lots more mud. so I turned around where I was and went back through the first mud hole but went as far away from the tree as I could and worked my way back. got back on the main route and finished out the drive without any further excitement. now I gotta see what I can do about the stripes :(

    If the stripes are only in the clear and not through it, you can polish them out. I’ve had good results with a product called Wizards Turbo Cut. Start by hand and buff out, then use a fine polish like 3M perfect-it, followed by a wax. If hand buffing doesn’t work, you could try a machine to buff it.
