Speaking of this, it happened again.



Two vehicles found at the bottom of embankments, two people transported

 

I got to ride that area with 4 or 5 other guys about 20 years ago. It was kinda fun

 

I agree. I like to take it home from work once in a while just for fun. Only when it's still light outside. Steep dropoffs with no guardrails.

 

Looks like Pepe's towing will have another video , the one I posted was at mile marker 31

 

It's got good views, that's for sure. I also got to ride that area over by the Rock House too. Some of those turns really come back on themselves. I've never dragged a knee but I didn't do the pegs any good. Now my bikes have foot boards and big comfy seats.

 

Gal got the diaper ride, also known as the Screamer suit, to be plucked out of the canyon. I may have gotten those two names reversed. lol.

 

Why does it not have guardrails?

It looks like there are new rails on part of it. Here is a good video. The first 5 minutes is Placerita Canyon which I drive to and from work every day (except this stay at home). You can skip to 9:45 for the good stuff or just enjoy the views.

EDIT: You can tell the guardrails are only a couple years old because the have steel supports. Any older ones would have wood ones. This area also burned down in a huge brush fire a couple years ago in the Sand fire so it's not a beautiful as it once was.

Interesting facts. There is a lot of filming in the area. At the beginning of the video Disney Ranch is on the left. Many TV shows and movies have been filmed there and are to this day. On Placerita Canyon Road Dukes of Hazard filmed there a lot and in the ranch. If you ever watched Justified it was also on that road many times.

About a mile in is the Oak of the Golden Dream. It was where gold was first discovered in California long before Sutter's mill.

At the 6:00 mark where I usually turn left to go home he turns right. There are two other movies studios there. On CVYota's side there was an animal sanctuary with lots of wild animals that recently closed after years of operation.

 

Good old Duke boys. On Placerita Canyon. Disney Ranch is beyond the gate.



This is an access gate not the main gate to the ranch.



A little up the road is Placerita Canyon Park (where the Oak of the Golden Dream is).

 

Even closer to home. Did anyone watch Junkyard Wars or Fear Factor? There is a gravel mine across the freeway where they filmed both.

I’ve spent many days and nights at the Disney Ranch. When it rains that place becomes one big mud pile.

 

Good morning all. On my way into the mine for a few hours and then retreat home to finish the day.

3:30am and still up listening to the pitter patter of the rain. We don't get much of it here and normally it would be more bitching about how bad it would make my drive in to work.

Since that is out of the question I can just enjoy the sound of it and let it wash our cars.
