I'm going to be sore tomorrow.

So a few months ago we had a new pad poured so I could install my new shed on a nice cement base. Tword the end of it I noticed a unusually wet area and asked the contractor to look in case they broke a sprinkler pipe. I was working at the time so I had to go thru my wife who was home. He insisted that there was no broken pipe and it was leaking from a large sprinkler that was there. What? that sprinkler wasn't even connected to anything. the leak stopped so I left it at that.

Now a few months later and I noticed that the rose bushes at the front of the house were looking a bit shaggy. I went to test the sprinklers there and they would not come on. I go to the back corner of the yard and the jerk had just shut off the main valve that runs to the front of the house. I turned it back on and checked it a couple hours later and the area was soaked.

So I started pulling bricks and digging until I found the leak. It looks like they must have hit the main line to the front with a pick axe. I fixed it and added in a faucet there while I was at it.

Since the normally cement like rocky ground was soaked I decided to trench to the front where I had a line and valve ready to run back to the back of the yard. I tapped into the pipe where the disconnected sprinkler was and will reuse that line to water the trees on the hill. I will replace the sprinklers with emitters for drip irrigation.

We were at Costco yesterday and picked up two large and nice solar lamps for each side of the BBQ pit. I did some more digging and cemented in the bases for the lights.

OK now I need some motrin.

Almost went that route myself. Almost pulled the trigger on a B&M blower.

Ended up with the Lettuce/Tomato motor instead.

    Pooped....
cleaned house. then got bored with that. started sewing. i need to get my sewing gear put away as it is scattered all over my living room and dining room. AKA my home office. Figured I'd just finish up all of the masks that I had precut, was guessing I only had 8-10 to go, and call it good. As I started digging and cleaning off my table I kept finding more masks. Up to 18 now. 9 are completely done. 3 more just need ties. 6 more about half complete. needless to say all of my sewing stuff is still all over the house and the house is not clean.

oh, and I promised mom a picnic tomorrow so i've been getting the camper prepped to go out for that. mom and dad still haven't seen it so i got it all cleaned up nice.

and i made a batch of chocolate cherry cupcakes with fresh buttercream frosting to bring to mom tomorrow.

still need to wrap her gifts. maybe a gift bag will have to be good enough.

Hope all is well. Worked last 4 days. Today went to friends place. He is a bicycle nut and he helped me tune up my old mountain bikes. Then we had friends over from northern Saskatchewan for a backyard fire We grilled steak over the fire along with potatoes with onion and bacon inside. These are Cree people and my God they know how to cook over a fire.
We had to make a break for the house when the sky opened up and the rains came down. First friends over since this 2020 dumpster fire started and it was phenomenal. Kept our social distances and still had a great time.
Some days are good some are great. This one was exceptional.
    Happy trails friends.
