I will have to get a pic of some of the squirrels in my backyard. I have a neighbor who feed everything that may come in “their yard”. We do get to see a lot of cool birds, however the squirrels eat everything. The black ones don’t seem to get to fat, the Fox squirrels are obese, I mean fat! Yesterday a Hawk was stalking a fatty squirrel, it sat there for 10 minutes. When it swooped down I thought for sure it was a goner. Hawk missed, to many trees.

 

The birds seem to do well around here. Roadrunners keep the snake, lizard and rodent populations down. Those are.fun to watch. I've seen several hawks around the river and canals flying with fish and rodents. It's pretty cool to see them swoop. With so little vegetation, the hunters have to be pretty good at what they do. What trees we do have, you can see big nests in them.

 

Mostly Oaks and Maples, it sat up in an Oak right out our window. I look over in the neighbors yard and there was 1/2 dozen squirrels. The squirrels spooked just before it got to them.

Yea well I ever saw it so it was a lousy pic.

 

living next to the woods we have tons of squirrels. they are very wild though. we hang a seed block out on the dog pen and they hang upside down eating it. the birds or smaller squirrels are on the ground grabbing what falls. had a pic that i deleted of a fox squirrel sitting on the deck as fat as a budda. sure he died from a heart attack. never saw him the following year.

Ive never seen a roadrunner. a pic would be nice if you can get one

 

i was working in mexico and one weekend we were just out driving and something ran across the road. We asked what it was and after our mexican driver thought and thought he finally just said "Beep Beep"

 

I take it back it was an awesome pic. Like really awesome.
