    Morning all

    And that is the answer.

Don't go back, EB is overpriced and not worth the frustration. Put up a review and warn others

 Hi Rob and good to "see" you again! Keep enjoying those grandkids :fistbump: Head down seems to be the best option for me anymore too. For the most part...

I went from Linksys to Netgear back around 5-6 years ago. When Cisco bought Linksys I felt they went down the crapper. And at one time could move around in Cisco IOS pretty well without much thinking. Enterprise equipment Cisco is still king IMO, for the most part. But got tired of all the issues with Linksys home routers. Could have been new acquisition growing pains too though.

I have a Netgear R8000 at demarc and an older R7000 setup as a repeater hard wired to another section of the house. Been rock solid for me. I moonlight a little bit from work (but not much) and a small business customer (IT headhunter of all things) router died and he brought in a spare Linksys from home and asked me to use it to replace his old Cisco router. That lasted about 2 weeks and by the time he got done paying me could have bought a Cisco small business router to begin with. Which he eventually did. Took us 2 of them to get one that finally worked. But now that it does he hasn't called me in almost a year except to add and remove users and set up their access permissions. Anymore I think all of them are a crap shoot until you get up to the Enterprise level.

You are probably right, I must have gotten lucky with my Lynksys, it has been a true work horse for me and has taken a lot of power shifts (on and off generator) without any problem.

I also went from unreliable (or occasionally flaky) Linksys to Netgear - specifically a Nighthawk X10 - and it is far, far better than any router I had before. It connected to the old Lunksys range extender I was using to connect some older equipment without wireless NICs and has been running like a champ for 3 years. Rock solid, no issues, no drops, and about 30 concurrent devices.

Cannot recommend enough. REALLY surprised that repeated models had issues. Could it have been a lower-end model?

    OK...that this is nucking futz.

My X10 is now having issues of inadequacy.

Where are the antennas? It looks like Batman's router. The bat-router.

    I want one now.

I think they are in the wings. Pretty sure they were all flat and Robin tried to fly Batman's bat mobile in between a couple of way too tight building. This thing is about that reliable too.
