On the bright side, this is the first one of the three that I have been able to connect to remotely.

    Sorry.

I kind of wish my X10 did all that other crap. I have Gig at the house but only 300MB off the router (TV is hard-wired - we stream at full speed). If that thing was as reliable as it should be, I'd upgrade. Still, I haven't swamped it when company came over (10 phones, 6 iPads, 2 PCs, 5 laptops, 3 streaming TVs) so I really can't complain about it.

I've had about 30 devices hooked to this model at a time. Three TVs streaming and it kept up with ease. I'm just afraid to reboot it or allow any kind of firmware update.

Weird. My X10 takes updates like a champ. Maybe it needs an update in order to work properly.

    Home sick ug!

I have always used Linksys routers and they have worked well. I just switched to Netgear because Costco had a great price on the Nighhawk wifi 6 mesh system with 3 boxes. Now I get a great signal throughout the house, in the garage and in the back yard where I could not get a signal before.

My house is next to an apartment complex. I'll have to get a count of all the wifi I can see from my place. It's like 50 routers. Most of them are locked down. A few printers are open. It's always been tempting to send a few photos or a "We're watching you" paper.

Thanks for all the IT router information. Made notes in case mine ever craps out. Going to sign off now - shutting down my system - major TStorm overhead - shaking the house and the dogs are going nuts - be safe everyone - later
