Everyone was posting about the fireworks last nite. im a history buff of the Civil War. so much of it was around me. a battle field marker not more than a mile from the house. wifes in bed and I sat here with the sliding door open thinking this is what it sounded like here 150yrs ago.they would come from different direction and can imagine troops making flanking moves. I do it every year. Battle of the Piedmont. yea im kind of weird like that

We have done Mathews Arm, Lewis Mtn, and now Loft mtn. The only one we have left is Big meadow. We're going to drive up and check it out before we make up our mind to go. Loft was very private but from what I understand Big Meadow is pretty much wide open

We have had does and fawns all around us

No bears yet and don't particularly care to see them. I see enough of them hunting. I just don't need one nosing around while we are camping

@Casper66 here's my current view. Not exactly secluded BUT there's 5 bull moose hanging out about 2 miles down the road so I stay here to be close to them.
Oh, and they have a dump station here so I don't have to haul my poops 200 miles back home tomorrow

    Also....moron report...
So the last few days I've been at a forest service camp in the boonies. Small camp, rough road (30 minutes to go 5 miles with the camper), no cell service. I was in the site next to the hosts, great people BTW. Some folks pull in with a massive Airstream and somehow shoehorn it into the only available spot that I would have struggled to fit into. Lady jumps out of the truck in a dress and knee high suede high heeled boots and marches up to the host's RV. She asks what the WiFi password is. o_O Really?!? They told her no WiFi here and managed not to laugh. She stomped back and started whining to her husband that there's no WiFi. She was genuinely surprised that there wasn't.

Oh you see all kinds of things and meet all kinds of folks. We have met some really cool and interesting people along with some idiots. I was glad we left today as there was a large group that came in across from us yeaterday evening, flopped up a small tent city, had a camp light as bright as a construction zone light, and had no idea what quiet time was about. I actually had to yell over at them a couple of times as they kept setting off their car alarms and locking and unlocking their vehicles. People don't understand you can do that quietly. I couldn't understand a thing they were saying

I'm in the no generator zone. I usually stay at this camp whenever I'm down here. Pretty quiet and there's mooses nearby - win win.
It always confuses the staff here when I ask for a site in loop F, preferably between 295 and 310. They always ask, oh so you've stayed here before then? Yeah, that's why I have the site numbers memorized.
