The fire is now at 1100 acres, no containment in site. there arn't many houses in that direction.

Since it's heading away from us we are not even getting choked with smoke.

We still have water dropping helicopters with night vision flying directly over our house every few minutes heading towards it.

I take back part of what I said. I just let my dog out back and when I opened up the sliding door it was like a Cheech and Chong movie.

I guess the AC will be running all night.

Sucks to be them. People driving south from Palmdale have been screwed in traffic since 3:30pm. All the back roads that ere not closed are bumper to bumper.

They opened the 14 freeway back up and its clear but there are a lot of cars that are on the alternate Sierra Highway that are still stuck and going nowhere.

There are a couple of accidents on the south end and they have no where to go. It's 20 minutes to midnight and it's still bad.

    Working from home tomorrow. :)

    Morning.

Getting ready for the mayhem Wednesday with new appliances being delivered.
So measured and cut and cut and measured for my huge fridge.
So I technically have room now for it however, if the walls are not square then
the counter top will be my next victim. Good thing I’m here this time. With ac units,
doors, and outdoor railings that need to be remove it will be an interesting dance. And, as
long as I lead, things will go ok.
So once the fridge is in and running I’ll try to slide it in and take necessary action. Then I’ll
reinstall moldings as necessary. Like everything else, time changes standards and this house ain’t
standard lol. Very excited for the wife.
Started installing a new shelf under the sink. With the pipes and such a two piece attack is necessary.
I’ll finish that after the changeover. After I fix the truck.......

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

Weatherman says 90s and humid all week.

Discovered a coolant leak on the Mazda Tribute. I'm not an expert but it appears to be the water pump. I'll take it to get it fixed. Pump, hoses, thermostats and belt. It's got 147k miles and it's just a back up vehicle.

Be safe and drink lots of water.

    Good morning.
    Back to work
Forecast high for the week is 113-115. They're always low by a few.
Got some phone calls, paperwork, fab work and hauling to do to set up the project. Thinking I'll start with the first 2 just to get back into the swing of working....I really need to get serious about retiring.
